Who doesn’t love a classic margarita, hands up! My hand is most definitely down, this is one of my all time favourite cocktails. Nothing beats the fresh tangy taste of lime mixed with the best quality tequila over ice and what puts it over the top for me is that salty after-note from the rim of the glass…bliss!!
A classic margarita is so easy to make its actually a joke. Just one ratio to remember. 2 parts tequila to 1 part lime juice and 1 part orange liqueur. How easy is that.
For the orange liqueur you have a few options. I use Cointreau but Grand Marnier or a good quality Triple Sec is just fine.
To whip up a quick margarita simply add the tequila, lime juice and orange liqueur into a shaker with a few blocks of ice and shake for about 30 seconds. Pour into a salt rimmed cocktail glass of your choice with or without ice…simple. Rinse and repeat.
