Let’s talk Martini. There is no doubt that this classic cocktail has some big followers but it’s also a cocktail that triggers huge debate.
- Dry, wet or perfect
- Olive or lemon
- Shaken or stirred
- Vodka or gin
For me the perfect martini is dry, with gin and stirred with lemon. Shaking a martini gives you a cloudy product and I prefer a crystal clear martini. Feel free to use vodka instead of gin if you find the gin taste too overpowering. Don’t get me wrong. I love olive in my martini, it give you something to snack on!
It’s a common misconception that a dry martini is made with more vermouth but in fact a dry martini is made with less vermouth, a wet martini is made with more vermouth and a perfect martini is made with equal parts sweet and dry vermouth as well as the spirit of your choice. I’m sure you are itching to make the perfect dry martini so let’s get into the recipe.
